L'Oréal Group Becomes Only Company to Receive Triple A Rating from CDP for 8 Consecutive Times
L'Oréal Group has become the only company to receive an A rating for all three environmental themes for the eighth consecutive year from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the world's largest environmental reporting platform, and is one of 10 companies to achieve A ratings across all themes among the 21,000 companies evaluated this year.
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the world's largest environmental reporting platform, awarded L'Oréal Group an A rating for all three themes—"climate change mitigation," "forest conservation," and "water security"—for the eighth consecutive year. Among the 21,000 companies evaluated globally by CDP this year, L'Oréal Group is one of 10 companies to achieve A ratings across all themes.
L'Oréal Group has set significant sustainability targets through 2030, which it has consolidated under its "L'Oréal for the Future" sustainability programme. Under this programme, L'Oréal Group has organized its targets around three main pillars, prioritizing inclusivity: "Respecting the planet's boundaries by transforming ourselves," "Strengthening our business ecosystem," and "Supporting urgent solutions to global challenges."
"We are committed to contributing to collective effort"
Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L'Oréal Group, made the following statement regarding the assessment:
"For L'Oréal, maintaining an 'A' rating in all three categories for the eighth consecutive year is both a great honor and a source of immense pride. This achievement is the result of the transformation efforts we have launched as the world leader in beauty. We also see this success as validation of our decision to fundamentally transform our business in line with the latest trends required by climate science. We have ambitious targets through 2030. Thanks to the dedication of all L'Oréal teams and our close collaboration with our entire ecosystem, we have already reached important milestones. Given the magnitude of the social and environmental challenges ahead, the only viable answer is collective action, and we are committed to actively contributing to this common effort.""L'Oréal Turkey became number one in Europe"
Sinem Sandıkçı Gökçen, Country General Manager of L'Oréal Turkey, stated that achieving the 3A rating demonstrates the success of the "L'Oréal for the Future" programmes, and continued as follows: "In the field of sustainability, L'Oréal Turkey achieved the highest realization rate among all countries in 2023 according to targets set by the group for each country, making us the country that contributed most to the group's targets. As L'Oréal, our purpose is to "Create Beauty That Moves the World," which we deliver by leading three major revolutions: the Digital Revolution, the Green Revolution/Sustainability Revolution, and the Meaningful Brands Revolution. Among these, the Sustainability Revolution is one of the areas our group prioritizes most. Our aim is to make beauty responsible, inclusive, and sustainable. Our achievements in the CDP assessment reflect this commitment. We have a responsibility toward our planet and our future. Through the projects we implement with this responsibility in mind, we will continue to be pioneers in sustainability."Advertisement
