Evyap Receives I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate
Evyap, which supplies electricity consumed in cosmetics and aerosol production facilities at its Tuzla plant from renewable sources, has obtained the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate.
Evyap continues to work towards a sustainable future. Through energy efficiency initiatives, the company has achieved significant energy savings in production and is developing innovative technologies to protect natural resources.
Most recently, Evyap obtained the I-REC zero-carbon green electricity certificate, which documents that the electricity consumed in its Cosmetics and Aerosol production facilities at the Tuzla plant is sourced from renewable sources. The certificate documents that leading brands Arko Nem, Arko Men, Emotion, Blade, and Privacy produced in Evyap's cosmetics and aerosol production facilities and exported to over 100 countries are manufactured using renewable energy. Additionally, Evyap is developing environmentally friendly solutions in product packaging. Most recently, the R&D team, which renewed Emotion deodorant bottle packaging and reduced aluminum usage by 4.2 percent, continues its projects on reducing paper and plastic consumption.
Evyap, which aims to increase the usage rate of electricity obtained from renewable energy sources in its production facilities, is developing nature-friendly projects in all areas for sustainable resource management. In addition to the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate, the company also holds an ISO 50001 Energy Management System certification and has been accepted into the VAP (Efficiency Enhancement Project) support program with three projects, qualifying for government support equivalent to 30 percent of the total project costs.
Evyap's environmental sustainability efforts are carried out under various headings including waste management, water consumption, energy efficiency and green energy use, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, and reduction of plastic use in packaging. Energy-saving technologies are used in production facilities; actions are taken in accordance with zero-waste regulations. Evyap reduces the proportion of plastic and paper used in product packaging each year.

In this direction, the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate we have obtained is of great importance in terms of our environmental sustainability efforts."
What is the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate?
The I-REC Certificate is issued to promote renewable energy investments by companies and contributes to increasing green energy use. The use of electricity obtained from renewable energy sources is made possible through tracking each unit of electricity used on the system. Production facilities that meet certain criteria, primarily by benefiting from renewable energy sources in production, can register in the created database and apply for the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate.
