International Starch Associations Federation (IFSA) Launches Operations
International dialogue and cooperation in the starch industry has begun with the International Starch Associations Federation (IFSA), of which Turkey is a founding member. The International Starch Associations Federation (IFSA), established by national starch associations representing the starch sector in the USA, Turkey, Europe, Mexico, Russia and China, has commenced operations. Represented by the Starch Manufacturers Association (NİSAD), Turkey's participation in the International Starch Associations Federation will foster international dialogue and cooperation among starch unions and associations. Established to promote strong dialogue and coordination in the global starch industry and to develop common policies, the International Starch Associations Federation (IFSA) will prioritize work on health and nutrition, workplace safety, sustainability, product safety and environmental relations, and communications on the benefits of starch-based products. IFSA also aims to act as a single voice in communications directed at international stakeholders such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and CODEX. In remarks concerning the establishment of IFSA, NİSAD General Secretary İsmail Kemaloğlu stated, "As one of the founding members of IFSA, we aim to monitor developments in our sector, observe human-centered developments globally in health, environment and nutrition matters, follow international opportunities more closely, and take sectoral steps that may benefit our country's interests." Noting that the starch industry is a dynamic sector in Turkey and worldwide, Kemaloğlu said, "Through these initiatives, we hope that innovations in the world, technology and innovation-based business developments, sectoral collaborations, and areas to which we attach great importance such as human health, nutrition and environment will be evaluated at the international level on behalf of the sector. NİSAD, which brings together all starch manufacturers in our country under one roof, will also strengthen its national and international partnerships through this opportunity and endeavor to serve the sector and our country in the best way possible."Advertisement
