Turkey's First Perfumer Surprised on 50th Anniversary

Erol Meşulam, Research and Development Director at international fragrance manufacturer MG International Fragrance Company and Turkey's first perfumer, celebrated his 50th career milestone with a surprise party at MG International Fragrance Company's facility in Gebze. Erol Meşulam, Research and Development Director at MG International Fragrance Company (MG Gülçiçek), one of the world's largest fragrance producers creating essences with inspiration drawn from nature for 57 years, and Turkey's first perfumer, celebrated his successful 50th career year with a surprise party. Having first encountered fragrances at age 14, Turkey's first perfumer Erol Meşulam graduated from the Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences in 1974. His passion for fragrances led him to Ecole de Parfumerie in Geneva, one of the world's most prestigious schools, from which he graduated in 1977. He currently continues his career as a board member and Research and Development Director at MG International Fragrance Company. Through Turkish Coffee and Absolut Black Tea essences he designed for the World Perfumery Congress (WPC), he introduced both himself and fragrances representative of Turkish culture to the world. Maintaining close relations with the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the European Fragrance and Aroma Association (EFFA), Meşulam is a member of both organizations. Celebrating the 50th year of his continued passion for fragrance design, Erol Meşulam will continue creating and producing in this field for many years to come. At the party held at MG International Fragrance Company's facility in Gebze, Melis Sökmen, known for bringing a distinctive approach to alternative music with her powerful vocals, took the stage. At the party, attended also by MG International Fragrance Company employees, Erol Meşulam said regarding the surprise: "You are all my family, here's to another 50 years together, I love you all very much." Honorary Board Chairman Michel Gülçiçek of Gülçiçek Chemicals and MG International Fragrance Company, CEO Aslan Gülçiçek, and General Manager Sibel Gülçiçek Elkaza, among others, ensured Erol Meşulam was not alone on this special day.
