Santa Farma and Women in Technology Association Takes Important Step Santa Farma and Women in Technology Association (Wtech) has provided free training in Marketing and Sales Technologies, Business Analysis and Gamification to 100 young women in their final year or recently graduated from Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Information Technology departments at universities and vocational high schools as part of its "Women Transforming Health" project. The 100 young women qualified for graduation from the program following the trainings. Through the trainings provided by the Women in Technology Association, 100 young women graduating from four training classes have been given priority opportunities for internships and employment in the healthcare sector.

Santa Farma Vice President of Pharmaceutical Strategic Planning and Operations Sami Kiresepi stated: "As we all know, globalization, climate change, demographic shifts, technological development and digital transformation are affecting and changing the socio-economic infrastructure of all countries. The business world is also bearing the effects of this change and practices that were considered correct until today are undergoing transformation. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the business world and educational institutions to keep pace with accelerating technological developments and digital transformations. Additionally, it is clearly evident that the pandemic has accelerated digitalization and automation in the business world. By acting agilely, the business world has been forced to rapidly utilize all the capabilities of digital technology to maintain continuity. Nevertheless, a skills gap of serious proportions has begun to emerge across all countries. And this skills gap has become a mega trend affecting the growth potential of companies and economies. Therefore, alongside basic vocational education, the necessity of on-the-job learning and lifelong learning and increasing technological competencies has taken an important place on the business world's agenda. These trends in the business world are significantly affecting women workers as well. We have succeeded in raising the proportion of women managers at director level and above within our company to 50 percent. And we take pride in adopting leadership on this matter as a social responsibility. We feel great joy in leading such and similar projects that contribute to increasing women's employment and the proportion of women managers in our country and in the pharmaceutical sector. We thank the Women in Technology Association for their cooperation. We wish success in their professional lives to those who participated in the trainings." he said. Zehra Öney, Founding Board Chair of the Women in Technology Association, stated: "The pandemic period demonstrated to the entire world the high importance of people working in and leading the healthcare sector. Turkey has tremendous potential in this field. We believe as a country and sector that women in Turkey will create significant strength in the healthcare sector by specializing in technology, in robotic processes and in research and development activities. In the field of cybersecurity, the Data Breach Investigations Report 2021 published annually by Verizon clearly demonstrates the increase in data breaches. And it reveals that compared to 2019, the most significant increase in data breaches has occurred in the healthcare sector. Considering the cyber security challenges frequently faced by a sector experiencing a 71 percent significant increase, companies being strong in technical issues such as cybersecurity and robotic processes will significantly affect our country's health tourism and health exports from an economic standpoint. Furthermore, women strengthened in technology will add a very important economic force to our country's Gross Domestic Product. For this reason, under the leadership of a strong healthcare institution like Santa Farma Pharmaceutical, we as the Women in Technology Association have embarked on training women who are experts in healthcare and technology. After a very successful training period, we have graduated our first cohort. We have boundless belief that our graduates will be role models and influential in this field. We wish to continue our work with the same enthusiasm and the same strength. As the Women in Technology Association, we will continue our work and this important project led by Santa Farma Pharmaceutical with determination, enthusiasm and strength in line with these principles. We congratulate the 100 women graduates and hope for increased investment in human resources in this field" she said.
