Sanofi's Entrepreneurship Program Care4Rare Holds Demo Day at TÜSAP Summit

TUSAP Platform, which operates with the vision of joint action for sustainable health, organized its 40th Vision Meeting on 21 December with Sanofi's contributions, aiming to conduct vision discussions based on the current state of the health sector and to produce qualified information that will influence the sector's future.

The event, organized under the theme "Innovation and Development of Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Healthcare," was attended by Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Şuayıp Birinci, Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Aydın and Sanofi Eurasia Regional Director Cem Öztürk.

At the summit, a Demoday event was held for the Care4Rare project launched by Sanofi, which focuses on solutions for entrepreneurs developing treatments for Lysosomal Storage Diseases, a metabolic and rare disease group, implemented within the scope of Sanofi's PharmUp Entrepreneur Support Program. Startups participating in the Care4Rare project had the opportunity to develop their ideas and presented their projects to sector representatives, with the winning entrepreneur Orhan Gören from Umaxlife receiving an award.

Groundbreaking solutions in fighting diseases

This year, among the startups completing the Care4Rare program were Umaxlife, a digital therapeutics platform that collects data integrated with biomarkers and measures the impact of mental health on the human body through deep learning; Inorare, which provides personal sterilization enabling home users to sterilize and reuse TAK catheters, one of the most used medical devices by those fighting rare diseases, at least 10 times; Pons, which for the first time in the world enables the detection of early-stage high-risk cancer cases through artificial intelligence-supported mobile ultrasound technology outside hospitals; RareGlow, which integrates into the application the exercise programs that physiotherapists provide to families based on disease progression using a 3D model; and RareSum, an artificial intelligence-based decision support mechanism that examines anonymous patient profiles uploaded by doctors, matches them with published case studies to date, and supports the doctor's diagnosis and treatment with scientific evidence.

The Care4RARE program is a Sanofi project that aims to create collaboration opportunities with numerous digital solutions, approaches, ideas and stakeholders in line with the Ministry of Health's Rare Diseases Health Strategy Document and Action Plan. Comprehensive support is provided for implementing solutions developed with an entrepreneurial perspective to address prioritized problems in diagnosis, treatment and daily living processes for patients with rare diseases, particularly Lysosomal Storage Diseases.
