Polifarma to Export New Nutritional Solution to Europe

Polifarma, a domestic pharmaceutical company with 34 years of experience in the healthcare sector, has taken another significant step in reducing Turkey's dependency on imported medicines by developing the country's first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution. Polifarma Deputy Chairman of the Board Vildan Kumrulu noted that following the solution's production, global brands marketing equivalent products in Turkey adjusted their prices downward, and emphasized that the company has begun exporting the product. Polifarma Pharmaceuticals, a 100 percent domestically-capitalized company, continues to contribute to reducing Turkey's healthcare import dependency by pioneering industry firsts. By developing Turkey's first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution, Polifarma has made a significant contribution to reducing import dependency in this category of nutritional products. Turkey's first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution is used for intensive care patients, post-operative patients, and those unable to be fed orally. The first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution successfully passed 10 separate quality tests established by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as standards for lipid finished products, and stands out for its compliance with fat distribution ratios recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Additionally, all raw materials of the product meet European Union – Good Manufacturing Practice (EU – GMP) and FDA standards.

Polifarma Deputy Chairman of the Board Vildan Kumrulu, noting that global brands reduced their prices following the market introduction of Turkey's first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution developed through extensive research at Polifarma's R&D Center, stated: "The Turkish pharmaceutical sector has sufficient knowledge base and experience to produce many products imported from abroad. We are proud to be one of the companies pioneering firsts in Turkey. We have exported Turkey's first domestically-produced three-chamber parenteral nutrition solution to Azerbaijan and the African continent. We will obtain our EU GMP Certificate in the final quarter of the year, and subsequently will begin exporting to European countries."
