Major Achievement for Polifarma İlaç

Polifarma İlaç Achieves Major Success For 36 years, Polifarma, a 100% Turkish-owned company, has been contributing to public health and the healthcare sector in Turkey. The company not only ranks among Turkey's "Companies with Highest R&D Expenditure" but has also secured a place in the top 10 of "Companies Running the Most Projects in R&D Centers."     Results of the 'R&D 250, Companies with Highest R&D Expenditure in Turkey' survey, now in its 9th year and conducted by business and economics portal Turkish Time, have been announced. Polifarma, 100% Turkish-owned and exporting to 70 countries, rose 39 places from the previous year based on 2021 data and secured 182nd place in the ranking of Turkey's '250 Companies with Highest R&D Expenditure' across all sectors. Entering the list of "Companies Running the Most Projects in R&D Centers" across all sectors at 10th position, Polifarma once again demonstrated its strength in R&D through this survey. Additionally, the company also ranked 44th in the "Number of Women Employed in R&D Centers" ranking, placing it in the top 50.

Vildan Kumrulu, Vice Chair of the Board of Polifarma İlaç, pointing out that under the PolAr-Ge umbrella the company is conducting product development studies that will be firsts not only in Turkey but also in the world, explained: "Our goal is to implement solutions that contribute to improving each patient's quality of life by saying Life First, and to achieve innovations for society's basic healthcare needs. In this context, we continue to improve ourselves day by day.   While taking on this important role in the healthcare sector, the fact that today we rank 10th among Turkey's "Companies Running the Most Projects in R&D Centers" is no coincidence; this success is the fruit of our 15-year strategic plan, the result of R&D investments we have carefully crafted and worked on from product selection to human resources."

At our PolAr-Ge center, we have the technical expertise to develop any pharmaceutical form

Ömer Faruk Fırat, R&D Director of Polifarma, said: "At our PolAr-Ge center, we have the technical expertise to develop any pharmaceutical form. We are nearing completion on our molecule on which we are conducting synthesis studies based on mRNA technology. Additionally, we have completed synthesis studies on a molecule in the rare diseases category. With this project, we are very close to synthesizing the raw material, converting it into a drug, and exporting the drug abroad. We are pleased that through this project we are helping thousands of patients in Turkey every year access the drug without having to wait for it to come from abroad," he said, noting that contributing to health is at the center of all R&D activities.
