Turkey's luxury cosmetics market, valued at TRY 1.5 billion, is seeing an increased share of fragrance sales. Fragrance has reached TRY 700 million in market size, with strong interest from tourists as well. Women prefer floral scents, while men opt for spicy and woody fragrances that convey strength. Dilek Çağlayan Değirmenci, Cosmetics and Accessories Director at Boyner Büyük Mağazacılık, stated that Turkey's luxury cosmetics market size has approached TRY 1.5 billion, adding that fragrance accounts for over TRY 700 million of this. Değirmenci said, "Changing lifestyles, increased interest in personal care, and the concentration of a young population have further boosted interest in fragrance. Additionally, I can say that tourists visiting our country recently show strong interest in fragrance, and the fragrance market continues to grow due to this interest." Regarding which scents are most preferred in Turkey, Dilek Çağlayan Değirmenci said, "Turkish women prefer floral and sweet notes that reflect elegance, mystery and freshness, while men prefer bold, masculine spicy and woody fragrances that convey strength. We observe that tourists visiting our country from the Middle East prefer oriental fragrances with 'oud' content, which Turkish consumers show less interest in. At the same time, the upper series of world-renowned brands, referred to as niche fragrances, also attract strong interest from tourists." she said. Source: Milliyet
