According to Bloomberg, work continues on determining the location of the facility. Moderna will produce vaccines against numerous epidemic diseases, including COVID-19, at the vaccine manufacturing facility it will establish in Africa. The planned vaccine manufacturing facility is reported to require approximately USD 500 million in investment. Pfizer-BioNTech announced in July that it would begin vaccine production in the Cape Town region of South Africa.
