LANXESS Increases Benzyl Alcohol Production Capacity
LANXESS Doubles Benzyl Alcohol Production Capacity
Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has announced it has doubled benzyl alcohol production capacity at its Kalama facility to support growth of its established customer base in North America. The increase in production capacity is the result of various technical improvements.
Benzyl alcohol, used as a preservative, solvent, fragrance fixative and intermediate, stands out for its low volatility and low toxicity. The pleasant, lightly aromatic colourless liquid meets the needs of customers in the sector.
Holger Hueppeler, Head of LANXESS's Flavours & Fragrances business unit, said: "With our innovative purification process, LANXESS is the world's leading benzyl alcohol producer. The Kalama facility now serves as the hub in our global manufacturing network of four plants producing high-purity benzyl alcohol.
By doubling production capacity in Kalama, we can provide rapid international shipments and offer a resilient supply chain capable of managing increasing geopolitical uncertainties."
