LANXESS Doubles Benzyl Alcohol Production Capacity Specialty chemicals company LANXESS has announced it has doubled benzyl alcohol production capacity at its Kalama facility to support growth of its established customer base in North America. The increase in production capacity is the result of various technical improvements. Benzyl alcohol, used as a preservative, solvent, fragrance fixative and intermediate, stands out for its low volatility and low toxicity. The pleasant, lightly aromatic colourless liquid meets the needs of customers in the sector.
