Humanis' R&D center turns 10

Humanis R&D Center, recognized as one of the five largest pharmaceutical R&D centers supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, celebrates its 10th anniversary. Humanis is marking the 10th anniversary of its R&D center. Over this decade, the Humanis R&D center has achieved full compliance with QbD (Quality by Design), EMA (European Medicines Agency) and ICH (International Council for Harmonisation) regulations, introducing approximately 200 products and more than 100 molecules to Turkish medicine. Yunus Sancak, CEO of Humanis, summed up the innovation philosophy of the Humanis R&D center with the words "To be valued by society, show respect to society and create value." He stated that they have served Turkish medicine across 10 different therapeutic areas, introduced a new treatment model for scabies therapy, and concluded their 10th year by bringing a product for the treatment of Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis, a rare disease, to Turkish medicine. As a result of research and development activities, the Humanis R&D center introduced an innovative product for scabies treatment—an oral tablet containing ivermectin—to Turkish medicine, and with its product for treating Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis, also entered the rare disease field. Over 10 years, conducting research and development work across a broad spectrum covering 10 therapeutic areas, Humanis will continue its efforts to improve more lives by entering different therapeutic areas until 2030. Sancak also noted that at the point the R&D center has reached after 10 years, the greatest share belongs to his colleagues, emphasizing that people are the most important value for Humanis, and that by working with capable and the right people, they have managed to keep the quality bar always at the highest level of national and international standards. Sancak stated that the Humanis R&D Center has developed projects over the past ten years across a broad spectrum ranging from painkillers and antipyretics to dermatology, antifungal drugs to cardiovascular health, antiviral treatments to musculoskeletal system medications, gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases. Sancak said, "In this ten-year period, by completing the licensing processes of 200 medicines and developing more than 100 molecules, we are steadily advancing toward our goal of becoming a trusted and beloved health brand in Turkish medicine."

Will develop products in cardiology and oncology

Sancak also noted that the Humanis R&D center will develop products in central nervous system diseases, diabetes, cardiology and oncology until 2030, saying, "We have completed the ten-year journey toward becoming a trusted and beloved health brand. In these 10 years, by prioritizing continuous innovation, we have focused on developing entirely new effective solutions. Innovation increases our competitive strength while enhancing our potential to make healthcare more accessible to more people through human-centered health solutions." Describing the Humanis R&D center's current innovative activities, he said, "As a result of our research to date, our R&D center has achieved a first in Turkish medicine with its oral tablet product manufactured with ivermectin as the active ingredient. Moreover, by bringing our product for treating Cerebrotendinous Xanthomatosis, a rare disease, to the service of Turkish medicine, we have also entered the rare disease field" and added "Until 2030, by entering new therapeutic areas, we will continue to provide health solutions with our human-centered philosophy." Noting that the secret of success in the 10-year R&D process lies in the efforts of his colleagues, Sancak said, "People are Humanis's most important value.
