GSK Provides Significant Support in the Fight Against COVID-19

COVID-19 treatment, GSK announced the launch of new research projects, while on the other hand donating USD 10 million to the World Health Organization to combat the pandemic. GSK also stated that it will provide TRY 2.5 million in support to contribute to supplying protective equipment to healthcare workers and procuring equipment for patient benefit in Turkey's efforts against COVID-19. GSK continues to contribute to the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with its 300 years of scientific expertise and knowledge. GSK is expanding its work while already supporting COVID-19 vaccine research programs of China-based global biotechnology company Clover with adjuvant technology. GSK's adjuvant technology reduces the amount of vaccine protein required per dose to achieve the same therapeutic effect, enabling production of more vaccines and thus contributing to protection of more people. GSK, which is also collaborating with CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations) to make vaccine adjuvant technology accessible to scientists working in vaccine development processes, has begun initial studies with Australia's University of Queensland under this system created with CEPI. GSK, within this cooperation framework, continues its work with a partnership of five companies and research groups from different countries including the USA and China. GSK expects data from these collaborations within the next 3 months to determine the clinical development process of candidate vaccines. GSK is also exploring the possibilities of using its existing production capacity to produce a final vaccine or support its production.

Our Goal is Early Access to COVID-19 Treatment

GSK is participating in a new research study called COVID-19 Treatment Accelerator. This research aims to bring together pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to identify the most promising molecules that can be used to treat COVID-19 cases. GSK will contribute by providing access to its own database to the research.

USD 10 Million Donation to COVID-19 Solidarity Fund

GSK donated USD 10 million to the COVID-19 Solidarity Fund created by the United Nations and the World Health Organization to support prevention, detection and management of the pandemic especially in areas of greatest need. This fund also contributes to the distribution of personal protective equipment and similar materials to healthcare workers. GSK is also donating excess production materials for diagnostic tests to many countries and is preparing to start the same process for excess personal protective materials.

TRY 2.5 Million Support from GSK Turkey

GSK Turkey, which has worked for good health in every moment of life for over 60 years, is providing TRY 2.5 million in support to contribute to combating the COVID-19 pandemic. This support will be used for supplying protective equipment to healthcare workers and procuring equipment for patient benefit with the aim of limiting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and assisting the healthcare system.
