GSK Ranks First in Access to Medicine Index for the 7th Time

GSK maintained its leadership position in the Access to Medicine Index, released biennially since 2008, in 2021 as well. For the seventh consecutive time leading in this field, GSK is working to make its medicines more accessible to people in low- and middle-income countries, in line with the company's strategy. GSK retained its leading position in the independently prepared Access to Medicine Index, which evaluates the activities of the world's 20 leading pharmaceutical companies in terms of access to medicines. GSK, which has provided healthcare solutions in pharmaceuticals, vaccines and consumer health for over 300 years, has occupied the top position from the outset among global pharmaceutical companies working to make their medicines more accessible to people in low- and middle-income countries. The company stands out for establishing a research and development system capable of implementing scientific innovations for global health priorities in the light of the value of patient-centricity. Evaluated in the Access to Medicine Index report as the company allocating the broadest share of research and development efforts to treating globally prioritized diseases such as malaria and HIV, GSK comes to the fore through its work to increase access to treatment solutions for infectious diseases in underdeveloped and developing countries, particularly targeting children and young populations.
