Technology to Prevent Blindness Through Early Diagnosis Is Coming

Retinow Health Technologies, selected third among 100 startups at TechAnkara Project Market, announced through Board Chair Tuğba Haklı Piroğlu and co-founder Kübra Nur Kara Baştürk that it aims to lead the prevention of avoidable blindness in Turkey.

Tuğba Piroğlu stated in her remarks that the company's products, which aim to revolutionize eye health through early diagnosis and artificial intelligence technologies, have attracted attention in Turkey and worldwide. She said that they capture photographs of the back of patients' eyes, transfer these images to a cloud system, and provide real-time reporting to users through artificial intelligence-based analysis using Retinow.ai.

Pointing out that this technology offers early diagnosis opportunities, particularly in retinal and glaucoma diseases, with the goal of preventing 90% of vision loss, Piroğlu said: "We aim to lead the prevention of avoidable blindness in Turkey. Through our products, we can make a significant difference in eye health through early diagnosis."

Secured TRY 1.6 Million Investment in 8 Days

Piroğlu noted that in 2022, following a crowdfunding campaign, they raised TRY 1.6 million investment in just 8 days, and continued: "With this funding, Retinow took a major step by obtaining CE certification. In the last quarter of 2024, we won TUBITAK 1501 support, and as of 2025 we aimed to position our products in 15 private hospitals in Turkey. We plan to make our first sales in Turkey. In this market where we have no competitors, we aim to establish ourselves as a strong player."

We Will Largely Prevent Vision Loss

Piroğlu explained that in the company they established using TUBITAK-BIGG and KOSGEB support, they develop innovative solutions in health technologies, emphasizing that they will play a major role in preventing vision loss by providing early diagnosis.
