Berko İlaç Gets Full Marks from Empati Parkuru

Full Marks for Berko İlaç from Empathy Course Berko İlaç participated in the Turkey Spinal Cord Paralysis Association's (TOFD) "Empathy Course" project, drawing attention to understanding the difficulties experienced by wheelchair users and developing social empathy. Berko İlaç employees experienced emotional moments through TOFD's "Empathy Course" project and highlighted barriers for a more conscious society. Aiming to raise awareness for the fundamental rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities, Berko İlaç employees used the association's wheelchairs on a special course featuring obstacles similar to those in daily life, experiencing the problems faced by disabled individuals. At the event held in cooperation with TOFD under the leadership of Berko İlaç Board Member and Corporate Communication Director Eylem Beran, Beran stated: "Through this project I participated in, I had the chance to experience what it means for wheelchair users to face many difficulties every day. As members of society, we will develop more empathy for wheelchair users and work whenever possible to minimize these difficulties. As Berko İlaç employees, when we see an area unsuitable for disabled individuals in a public place, we will upload images to the 'I Was Blocked Here' website and do our part to remove barriers and ease living spaces. Being here today moved us deeply and made us more conscious on this issue. I am very grateful to the Turkey Spinal Cord Paralysis Association for creating such a wonderful awareness environment." This project is conducted by the Turkey Spinal Cord Paralysis Association (TOFD) under the name "Empathy Course" to help individuals using wheelchairs due to spinal cord paralysis and health problems understand the difficulties they face in daily life. On a special course created at TOFD Headquarters, participants experience one-to-one the barriers similar to those faced by disabled individuals in daily life, thereby providing empathy and awareness. The project highlights the situation where disabled individuals are hindered due to many reasons such as parking spaces being occupied and stairs and inclined areas being unsuitable for disabled persons, and sometimes because of these reasons they do not want to leave home.
