Healthcare growth through exports
Gensenta is among Turkey's established companies in the pharmaceutical sector. The company, which began operations as a laboratory in 1923 and conducted extensive work in the sector as Mustafa Nevzat İlaç from 1957 onwards, was acquired in 2012 by Amgen, a U.S. biotechnology company among the world's leading firms. The company's name was changed to Gensenta in 2020. The company, which exports to different countries, was twice an export champion in the sector in recent years. As of end of 2021, the company realized 47 percent of its revenue through exports, and will provide an important contribution to Eczacıbaşı Group's export and international growth strategy in the healthcare sector. With its team of approximately 800 experts and modern facilities, Gensenta ranks among Turkey's significant finished pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical active ingredient producers. Gensenta is noted as a major lyophilized vial producer and exporter for Turkey and the region. Penicillin group, etodolac and other pharmaceutical active ingredients are produced at Gensenta Raw Material Production Facilities. With the Gensenta acquisition agreement in the healthcare sector, Eczacıbaşı will continue to provide pharmaceuticals produced with modern technology and new and comprehensive solutions to public health both domestically and in numerous countries abroad. Eczacıbaşı-Monrol, an important pillar of Eczacıbaşı's holistic health approach, aims to transfer its expertise in nuclear medicine to oncology, alongside high-quality radiopharmaceuticals produced with EU-GMP quality and targeted therapy products. Eczacıbaşı-Monrol's products are used in clinical trials for innovative treatment methods at renowned cancer centers around the world.
