DEVA Stands Out with R&D Spending

Research and Development Activities: Results of "R&D 250, Turkey's Top 250 Companies by R&D Spending" Study Released

As a result, DEVA, a domestic and established pharmaceutical company operating in Turkey since 1958, became the 21st company with the highest R&D spending in 2018. In the pharmaceutical sector, it allocated 7 percent of its turnover to R&D activities. With approximately 2,200 employees, we create value through our GMP-approved production facilities from Europe and FDA-approved facilities from the United States, as well as through our exports abroad." Philipp Haas continued: "DEVARGE, which received R&D Center certification in 2010, is one of the largest R&D centers in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector, with 7,000 m² of enclosed space encompassing analytical development laboratories, formulation laboratories, synthesis laboratories, biotechnology laboratory, pilot production and stability chamber areas, staffed by approximately 200 scientists specialized in their respective fields. Our competent R&D team, educated at doctorate, master's and bachelor's levels, develops high-value-added, innovative new formulations and products with comprehensive equipment parks equipped with current technology. Together with university collaborations and project support, we conduct biotechnology research in development laboratories equipped with clinical and preclinical support. While working to increase our presence in existing markets on one hand, we evaluate business opportunities to enter new markets on the other. Our regulatory approvals exceed 600 in more than 60 countries, including the United States, Switzerland and Germany. Our current product portfolio contains over 600 products across 13 different therapeutic areas, ranging from hematology and oncology to cardiology, from respiratory system to ophthalmology. We currently export pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical active ingredients to approximately 40 countries." he said.
