Ceremony Held in Ankara
A signing ceremony was held on 27 January in Ankara for 13 new R&D projects implemented by the Defence Industries Presidency (SSB) in 2021. The ceremony, where Defence Industries President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir and SSB Head of R&D and Technology Management Dr. Şaduman Aziz delivered remarks, was attended by SSB officials and representatives from industry companies. During the ceremony, memoranda were signed between the SSB and relevant parties for all projects. The projects in question are being carried out by a consortium comprising a total of 24 stakeholders, including universities and companies from prime contractors. Berko İlaç, in cooperation with SSB, TÜBİTAK MAM and Sun Tekstil, will develop reactive decontamination materials against chemical/biological warfare agents and toxic industrial chemicals under the "Next-Generation Decontamination Material Technology Development Against Chemical and Biological Warfare Agents (DEKON) Project." These materials will be developed and produced in four different formulations—powder, liquid, pad/wipe and cream/lotion—using national capabilities.Advertisement
