Berko İlaç took another significant step on its path to becoming a global brand by signing a cooperation agreement with Dong-A ST and Orphamed Pharma at CPHI Worldwide 2023.
Berko İlaç signed a cooperation agreement with Dong-A ST and Orphamed Pharma for products and fixed-dose combinations indicated in Type II Diabetes treatment, continuing to make headlines with its projects.
Among Berko İlaç's strategic initiatives, the company aims to conduct technology transfer to its production facilities in cooperation with the originator company for products in the original product category indicated for Type II Diabetes treatment for the purpose of treating chronic diseases, and to place the finished product at the service of Turkish medicine.
On the matter, Berko İlaç General Manager Pharm. Barış Özyurtlu stated: "At CPHI Worldwide 2023, which we visited following our EU GMP certification, we held important meetings with our stakeholders in the healthcare sector. I believe we have taken another significant step in increasing our competitive strength in the global market and becoming a global brand. Operating with world-standard production facilities with 171 products, approximately 900 employees and 21,000 square meters of covered area, Berko İlaç produces approximately 90 million boxes annually while working for healthier tomorrows.
With the EU GMP certification it received in 2023, it is progressing with confident steps toward becoming a global brand. Active exports are carried out to 23 countries, primarily Vietnam, Republic of Korea, Ukraine, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Azerbaijan and the Balkans. Approximately 20 new product projects are developed each year in the Accredited Research and Development Center. Placing social responsibility among its priorities, Berko İlaç implements projects with numerous foundations and civil society organizations.
In addition to the "Berko Children's Theatre," a first and only in the pharmaceutical sector, launched with the aim of contributing to children's social development and fostering arts culture in children, and the "Children Hospitalized Should Not Miss Out on Play" project, which established play areas for pediatric patients in hospital services, the company contributes to society by supporting the needs of village schools and providing scholarships to students in need.
