BASF Expands Agricultural Solutions Portfolio
Sunflower has become one of the key and rapidly growing sectors, particularly in Europe. To enter the sunflower market and complete its existing portfolio for sunflower, BASF signed a distribution agreement with Euralis Semences.
The objective is to evaluate innovative hybrid sunflower varieties and ensure their regular market launch; at the same time, to offer sunflower growers in the European region a more comprehensive commercial solutions portfolio. Hybrid products incorporate BASF Clearfield® Plus technology, which combines state-of-the-art genetics and crop protection. The hybrid sunflower seeds are targeted for market launch in 2020.
Livio Tedeschi, Senior Vice President of BASF Agricultural Solutions Division Europe, Middle East, Africa and CIS, made the following statement on the subject: "Sunflower is an important crop for Europe. Because it is highly beneficial for health, it plays a significant role in modern dietary habits.
Sunflower is also extremely important in terms of crop rotation. Through this partnership, we are investing more in seed and seed technology to be an even stronger partner for our customers."
