Anatolia Exports Robotic Devices to Over 70 Countries Anatolia Diagnostic A.Ş., a 100 percent Turkish-capital biotechnology company that develops and manufactures diagnostic kits and devices for detecting genetic and infectious diseases, exports to over 70 countries including Italy, the United Kingdom and France. Board Chairman Alper Akyüz provided information about the company and its robotic devices. In assessments of 2021 figures, Akyüz outlined the company's targets for 2022 alongside its new R&D center.

Kits and Robotic Device Exports to Over 70 Countries

Akyüz stated, "We are a company founded in 2010. We were established with modest conditions—a team of 5 people and a 100-square-meter R&D laboratory. Our goal was to produce kits and devices meeting world standards in the diagnostics field. Eleven years later, we now operate in an area of approximately 15,000 square meters. We have over 100 employees, 38 of them in the R&D center. We export our products to over 70 countries. Our products are used in more than 100 laboratories in Turkey. We manufacture over 350 diagnostic kits and devices." Noting that DNA or RNA purification from samples is required in all genetic diagnostic methods, particularly PCR, Akyüz said, "With our robotic devices, we can perform this process without human contact, very quickly and without error. We have several types of devices. We have accelerated production of our 24-sample-capacity device. This is a device in high demand in Turkey and especially in developed countries worldwide. So far we have put over 50 devices into use. We continue production at a rate of 3-4 devices per week." Noting that the device capable of extracting DNA from 24 samples is seeing high demand, Akyüz stated, "These devices have the capability to extract DNA or RNA from a wide variety of organic materials, blood, tissue or food substances. It allows us to obtain DNA from 24 samples in approximately 1 hour. Moreover, it performs this completely automatically with zero tolerance for error. This both increases the processing capacity of laboratories and reduces the workload of laboratory technicians. Therefore, the device sees increasingly higher demand year on year. Versions of these devices capable of processing 48 and 96 samples simultaneously will be launched to the market this year. We believe these devices will also see very high levels of demand." Akyüz continued, "We have developed and grown ourselves through the innovative products we manufacture. That is why launching new R&D activities and developing new projects and products is extremely important for us. Our new R&D center is housed in an area of approximately 12,000 square meters. We will continue our R&D activities with a much larger number of researchers, faster and more effective infrastructure capabilities. We aim to develop new platforms. We plan to develop innovative devices based not only on PCR or DNA sequencing, but on new techniques. We will develop new kits accordingly. We will use this R&D center's capabilities to further develop our product portfolio of over 350 products."

Approximately TRY 200 Million in Revenue During First 6 Months of 2021

Providing information about 2021 figures, Akyüz said, "In the first 6 months of 2021, we achieved revenue of approximately TRY 200 million. More than 85 percent of this is EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization). Therefore, we are a company producing very high added value. With the opportunities provided by our new R&D center and the new products we will bring to market, we aim to continue and accelerate this growth in 2022," he concluded. Source
