Abdi İbrahim Supports Global Fight Against Pandemic

Abdi İbrahim has taken its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic to an international platform and announced it will provide pharmaceutical aid to three countries. Abdi İbrahim has donated 1.6 million tablets of chloroquine phosphate active pharmaceutical ingredient to the Ministry of Health to date. The company had previously stated it would deliver its remaining year-end production to the Ministry if needed. The company donated 100,000 tablets of the chloroquine phosphate active ingredient, which is included in COVID-19 treatment protocols, and 7,000 tablets of acetylcysteine active ingredient, which is effective in symptomatic treatment of the disease, to the Kazakhstan Ministry of Health. Abdi İbrahim also announced it will donate 100,000 tablets to Algeria and 50,000 tablets to Azerbaijan. Nezih Barut, Chairman of the Board of Abdi İbrahim, said the following on the matter: "As a company in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector, we conduct our business with passion, courage and responsibility for our sector, our country and ultimately all humanity. We closely monitored all efforts during the pandemic that we face as a country. In the early stages of the pandemic, we took immediate action and entered the raw material supply process for our product, which is one of the primary treatment medications in the treatment protocol in our country. Thanks to our strong supply network and relationships, while many other countries and companies were unsuccessful, we secured our raw materials and achieved production of 1.6 million tablets.

By year-end, we have also committed that we will produce and donate all of our Ministry of Health's requirements for this pharmaceutical.

With the responsibility that comes from being one of Turkey's leading companies, we regard human health as our highest priority. At the same time, both as a sector and as a country, we are demonstrating a strong stance in the fight against the pandemic. As a domestic company operating abroad, we have the responsibility to support our country's brand with every step we take. In this direction, to fully fulfill our duties, we donated 100,000 tablets of chloroquine phosphate and 7,000 tablets of acetylcysteine active ingredient products through our Abdi İbrahim Global Pharm company to Kazakhstan, our second home. Kazakhstan holds a special place for us; our production facility in this country is one of the most important links in our foreign investments. We decided to expand our support somewhat further and donate 100,000 tablets through our company Abdi İbrahim Remede Pharma to Algeria, where we also have a significant investment. Another country of great importance to us is Azerbaijan, and we have informed the authorities that we will donate 50,000 tablets of our chloroquine phosphate active ingredient medication. During this difficult period the world is going through, we will continue to assume responsibility and sustain our support as we have done to date and will do going forward. Founded on the vision of our founder Abdi İbrahim and extending from generation to generation for 108 years, the most important principle in the Abdi İbrahim tradition is our determination to improve life and the world as part of the solution. We view these aids we are providing as a service to humanity in line with this principle, and we believe we will overcome these difficult days only through unity and solidarity," he said.
