Turkish pharmaceutical giant Abdi İbrahim is beginning to export medicines it develops and manufactures in Kazakhstan to Georgia and Azerbaijan

Turkish Pharma Leader Abdi İbrahim Begins Exports of Drugs Developed and Manufactured in Kazakhstan Abdi İbrahim, leader in the Turkish pharmaceutical sector, is beginning exports of medicines produced at its manufacturing facility operating under Abdi İbrahim Global Pharm, its company in Kazakhstan, to Georgia and Azerbaijan. Products in the hepatitis and diabetes therapeutic areas will be exported from Kazakhstan's largest and most modern pharmaceutical factory with Abdi İbrahim quality assurance to these two countries.

For 105 years, Abdi İbrahim has continued its activities without interruption to improve life and the future through bold, pioneering and innovative work. With its Kazakhstan investment, which is the most important link in its international operations, the company is progressing step by step toward its 2020 targets.

The Kazakhstan facility, whose foundation Abdi İbrahim laid in 2013, earned qualification for GMP Certification, a reference document in best manufacturing practices, shortly after beginning production. The production facility carries the distinction of being Kazakhstan's largest and most modern pharmaceutical factory.

The Kazakhstan production facility, which Abdi İbrahim brought to life with a USD 60 million investment and commenced operations with annual production capacity of 24 million boxes, has obtained its first international licenses and won national procurement tenders in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Products in the hepatitis and diabetes therapeutic areas, manufactured with Abdi İbrahim quality and assurance at this facility, will be exported to Georgia and Azerbaijan.

The production facility, built on a total of 12,000 square meters of enclosed space and employing approximately 200 personnel, manufactures approximately 100 products, primarily diabetes and antiviral products, as well as products used in treating central nervous system diseases and cardiovascular products.

Speaking about the Kazakhstan investment, Cengiz Zaim, Director of International Markets Marketing and Sales at Abdi İbrahim, said: "Our Kazakhstan factory is an indication of our commitment to becoming a strong brand in international markets, which is one of five growth areas we have identified in line with our 2020 strategy.

From this facility, we are now beginning exports to Georgia and Azerbaijan, countries where we have been operating for 10 years. We will export our hepatitis and diabetes products to these countries with Abdi İbrahim quality assurance.

In the coming years, we aim to increase current potential by exporting to countries in the Eurasian Customs Union and CIS countries beyond these countries. As we move toward 2020, we will accelerate our export activities and continue our growth in the free market." he added.
