Ülker Bisküvi closed the first half of 2023 with revenue of TRY 19.6 billion. Turkish operations accounted for 66% of revenue, while exports and overseas operations accounted for 34%.
Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan made the following remarks on the company's continued development:
"As Turkey's leading food company, we continue to invest in our brands, introduce new products to our consumers, and add value to our country through exports and employment. Twenty-four new products reached shelves in the first six months of the year. Our goal is to always be the leading brand that best understands its consumers and sets trends. We are performing successfully across all categories. Our products are present in every household in Turkey, while we export to more than 100 countries. We are a strong player in our region, maintaining our leadership in the biscuit market in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We continue strong growth momentum in Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries."Advancing toward net-zero status by 2050
Buyurgan recalled that in the first quarter of the year they concluded sustainability-linked credit agreements totaling USD 330 million: "We are advancing our sustainability initiatives through a waste-free company model. We have also launched a carbon management program that addresses the entire value chain—from sustainable raw material sourcing to packaging management, logistics management, and waste recycling. By controlling greenhouse gas emissions across all areas and implementing emission reduction projects, we are making steady progress toward becoming a net-zero company by 2050."Advertisement
