Ülker Biscuit announced in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that first-half revenue reached TRY 51.6 billion. The company closed the same period with an EBITDA margin of 17.8%.
Ülker CEO Özgür Kölükfakı, stating that the company continues to add value to Turkey, said: "In the first six months of the year, we maintained our leadership in the snacks sector in our country and in the biscuit market in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Through our strong innovations, we introduced 32 new products to consumers during this period, which had a positive impact on our market share. Through the direct distribution center we recently established in Uzbekistan, regional dealerships in 12 different cities and all sales channels, we aim to reach our products to 30 thousand sales points." Kölükfakı continued: "Sustainability is at the heart of all our operations. In line with our sustainability approach, which we have grouped under the main headings of our planet, value chain, employees and society, through our waste-free company model, we are working towards our targets. We are making steady progress towards our goal of becoming a net-zero company by 2050 on climate crisis, one of the main focuses of our sustainability strategy. In addition, through projects such as Beyond Cocoa, Beyond Hazelnuts, and Regenerative Agriculture, we support farming. Our "Biofortification Project" in collaboration with Sabancı University, which enriches wheat in zinc and selenium while growing in the field, has yielded initial results. We launched a limited number of Saklıköy Field-Enriched Grain Biscuits made from wheat that was nourished through zinc and selenium applications from leaves during field cultivation to the market.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, which we have begun to integrate quickly into our business processes, we are developing projects in machine learning, optimization and image processing in sales, marketing, production and supply chain. By positioning artificial intelligence as a strategic advantage, we are also achieving significant gains in critical issues such as data integration and cost management. Thanks to the opportunities it provides, we create faster and data-driven decision-making processes, while optimizing costs and increasing operational efficiency. Through our artificial intelligence-supported analytics models, we analyze sales data to make demand forecasts clearer. This way we make inventory management more efficient. Closely monitoring digitalization trends, we are investing in automation at our production facilities. AI-supported automation takes on repetitive tasks, giving human resources the opportunity to focus on more strategic work. The 20 autonomous mobile robots we put into operation last year at our Gebze factory, specially prepared for its infrastructure, carry 2,600 different types of materials, primarily raw materials and packaging. We recently transferred this application to our factory in Ankara as well and began using 13 more autonomous robots.
We continue our social initiatives in sports. In collaboration with the Turkey National Paralympic Committee, of which we are the main sponsor, our "Racing with Heart" video series, prepared to make visible the inspiring struggles and stories of Paralympic athletes, reached millions of people.
