Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Program Completed
The Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Program, conducted by the Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association and launched on 5 March 2022, was completed with the presentation of certificates to participants following their presentations.
Aegean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association Chairman Hayrettin Uçak stated: "We have always believed in the power of agriculture and our young people for Turkey's long-term development. As EYMSİB, we have been working for a long time to improve all links in the chain from production to storage, transport and consumption from the ground up. Pesticide control, reducing food waste, and controlled agriculture are our priority areas. The outputs of the bridge we have built between our young people and our sector will increase sustainability in agriculture and serve as a basis for developing solutions."
Hayrettin Uçak said: "With our Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Program, we provided our young people with a comprehensive training program covering the necessary processes for sustainable agriculture. At the end of the day, when each of them enters the workforce; they will be equipped with current competencies compliant with the EU Green Deal, in production processes that will reduce carbon footprint, knowledgeable in Good Agricultural Practices, international certification processes, changing global demand and sustainable production-consumption. With the innovative thinking of our young people, Turkey will reach a leading position in agriculture."
Top Three Projects;
1- Waste-Age Project; A platform that brings stakeholders together and provides consulting services to convert organic waste into value-added products. The project aims to position itself in a key position between producers whose production output is organic waste and producers who can convert this into value-added products in the value chain. Another objective of the project is to create behavioral change in public opinion based on the data obtained. 2- Gel Track Project; A shared business model developed to put idle agricultural equipment into working condition. In the model planned to reach users through a mobile application and website, it aims to bring together farmers in need of agricultural equipment and equipment-owning farmers in that region under certain conditions. 3- Ortech Project; Following the use of citrus juice, the remaining peels' natural flavoring extraction from oils, purification and combination of medicinal and aromatic plant essence water with peel liquid to obtain pesticides for organic farming, and using the final portion separated from oil and water as soil improvement material. Other projects include; -Agrosaba; An application that enables producers to register soil and pesticide analysis and field and production information with certification companies in the system and connect with buyers. -Farmland; Aims to build accommodation facilities in unproductive agricultural areas near city centers in modern cities, establish soilless agriculture greenhouses to meet facility needs, offer guests the experience of growing agricultural products, and provide an environment where they can consume healthy, reliable agricultural products they produce themselves. -Tarım Market; An e-commerce platform where farmers and companies meet. -Citrus Box; Aims to achieve added value in different sectors by using agricultural products as different raw materials. Through the Lemon App application, it aims to bring together consumers, cosmetics and fruit juice companies.What is the Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Program?
The six-week Third Generation Agricultural Entrepreneurship Training Program was announced to the public with an opening meeting on 4 March. Training began on 5 March. Second week; Training continued. Third week; Training continued and a visit was made to Uçak Kardeşler Gıda Seracılık Ltd. Şti., which conducts fresh fruit and vegetable exports. Fourth week; Training sessions were held at Aegean Exporters Associations. In addition to the training, groups formed by coming together in Workshop Activities shared the ideas/results they obtained on a specific topic through joint decision with other groups. Fifth week; Training continued and information was provided by Aegean Exporters Associations regarding export support. Sixth week; Visits were made to Feast, Turkey's largest frozen food integrated facility under Özgörkey company group in Torbalı, İzmir, and Agrobay Seracılık in Dikili, the world's second largest and Europe and Turkey's largest horticultural operation.Advertisement
