Three Corn Seed Varieties Developed in Turkey Registered Three additional corn varieties have been added to MAY Tohum's corn varieties approved for registration in the European Union. The champion corn varieties 77MAY35, HİDO and EVEREST, which are favored by producers in the Turkish market, have been approved for registration in the European Union. MAY Tohum, which has been strengthening its portfolio every year with new corn varieties bred on Turkish soil in line with its 'On-Farm Breeding' strategy and with high yield capacity and tolerance to stress conditions, continues to offer competitive varieties to world standards with 22 years of R&D experience. The 77MAY35 grain variety and HİDO and EVEREST varieties in the silage group, on which trial plantings were conducted for two years by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, have qualified for commercial use in European Union countries with high yield results and product quality. The corn varieties developed by MAY Tohum as a result of meticulous R&D work in line with its On-Farm Breeding strategy attract attention with their high and stable yield characteristics. As a result of the importance it places on R&D, MAY Tohum has over 200 products registered under the MAY brand in the international market and approved for commercial use abroad, and it continues to add new varieties to those it has bred and whose registration has been approved overseas each year.

"We currently have over 200 varieties approved for registration in the international market"

MAY Tohum Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors Yusuf Yormazoğlu: "As a company, we are developing competitive varieties on a global scale in hybrid corn, hybrid sunflower, cotton, beans and sweet corn, which are the focus of our R&D activities. We currently have over 200 varieties approved for registration in the international market. Three additional varieties have recently been added to these. The 77MAY35, HİDO and EVEREST varieties, which are highly appreciated by corn producers in the Turkish market, have been registered in the European Union and have started commercial sales. In all the types we focus on in our R&D work, we are promoting the competitive varieties we develop and continuing our sales, marketing and production activities without slowing down across the geography ranging from the European Union, Middle East, Black Sea Region, Africa and Central Asia," he said.
