Vinegar Producers Join Forces to Establish Association

Vinegar producers have established SirkeDer through a joint initiative, contributing to sector development while providing consumers and the public with accurate, reliable information and conducting various activities related to vinegar, which is used by consumers for both food and cleaning purposes. As the vinegar sector in Turkey reached TRY 263 million in 2020 and continues to grow with the impact of the pandemic, sector representatives Fersan, Carl Kühne, Ajinomoto, Tariş, Kavaklıdere and Yakamoz established SirkeDer. SirkeDer Board Chairman Gürhan Güven stated that they wish to inform the public, relevant organizations and consumers through accurate and reliable sources on vinegar, saying: "The unification of the care shown in vinegar production, which is actively consumed in daily life both globally and in our country, under an association umbrella is of great importance for the food sector. With the convergence of the quality assurance that producers provide when presenting vinegar to consumers under the SirkeDer umbrella, a commitment to protect public health has been made. In this context, as SirkeDer, we will inform all stakeholders in the sector and carry out activities and initiatives." Güven, stating that they will protect the rights and interests of association members as well as consumers throughout Turkey, said: "We will monitor the compliance of products on the market with regulations and, in case of non-compliance, make necessary notifications to relevant legal organizations and follow up. We will contribute to combating unfair competition and support the sector's operation under free competition conditions in accordance with ethical rules."   Source
