The European Food Information Council EUFIC has initiated a fruit and vegetable mapping project globally, and the Sabri Ülker Foundation Agricultural Research and Policies Directorate TAGEM will collaborate to ensure Turkey's participation in the initiative. The project aims to raise awareness about healthy and sustainable nutrition while supporting seasonal fruit and vegetable consumption. The European Food Information Council EUFIC, which has spearheaded numerous projects on sustainable nutrition, is rolling up its sleeves for a fruit and vegetable production map prepared across all European countries. To ensure Turkey's inclusion in this significant project covering European countries, the Sabri Ülker Foundation has taken action to participate by sharing Turkey's seasonal fruit and vegetable map featuring local production with EUFIC. The fruit and vegetable map, which is being conducted for the first time in Turkey and serves as a model, will substantially contribute to sustainable nutrition efforts underway globally. The map prepared by TAGEM will be shared with EUFIC through the Sabri Ülker Foundation, with communication activities also conducted by the Sabri Ülker Foundation.

OBJECTIVE: RAISING AWARENESS

The fruit and vegetable map prepared by EUFIC and covering all European countries aims to raise awareness about healthy and sustainable nutrition while supporting seasonal fruit and vegetable consumption. Reducing environmental impact in food systems by promoting balanced nutrition is also among the project's objectives. Particularly following the surge in consumer demand for local producers during the pandemic period and the observed increase in fruit and vegetable consumption during quarantine, the project implemented by EUFIC will assist individuals in making sustainable and healthy choices through a reliable and interactive mobile application.

SABRI ÜLKER FOUNDATION REPRESENTS TURKEY IN THE PROJECT

In the project where Turkey will be included alongside many European countries sharing seasonal fruit and vegetable reserves, the Sabri Ülker Foundation represents Turkey.

The Sabri Ülker Foundation, which implements important projects to contribute to the future of public health and deliver accurate and up-to-date information on nutrition, food and healthy living to all segments of society from reliable sources, is preparing data for Turkey that will be part of this global-scale project through its collaboration with TAGEM.

All communication activities for the project represented by the Sabri Ülker Foundation and marking a first for Turkey will be conducted by the foundation.
