According to this, pide flour demand showed a 364% increase compared to the monthly average of other months, while general flour demand saw a 25% increase. Sales during Ramadan accounted for 65% of pide flour demand throughout the previous year. During Ramadan, the month of abundance and sharing, demand particularly for pide flour reached notable levels, and the company reorganized its production and logistics operations according to this intensity and met all demands completely.
Ramadan Pide: An Essential of Iftar Tables
Hasan Abdullah Özkan, Chairman and CEO of Eksun Gıda Grubu, noted that pide is indispensable on iftar tables and said:
"We experienced record growth in pide flour demand this year. With our strong production infrastructure and extensive distribution network, we successfully managed all incoming orders. As a company, we conducted special strategic planning beforehand to meet the intense demand that emerged during Ramadan. We completed our preparations on the production lines at our factories in Konya and Tekirdağ despite increased capacity. We then organized our factory schedules accordingly. As in every Ramadan, this year we are pleased to be present at iftar and suhoor tables with our Eksun Gıda and Sinangil brands."
Highest Demand from Major Cities
According to company data, the provinces with the most intense pide flour demand during Ramadan were identified. The top five among these provinces were Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli, Bursa and Tekirdağ. These cities, which rank among Turkey's largest metropolitan areas, stand out not only for their populations but also for their strong bakery culture.
