Nestlé Partners with APC Microbiome Ireland

Partnership Between Nestlé and APC Microbiome Ireland Nestlé, one of the world's leading food companies, and APC Microbiome Ireland, a Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre based at University College Cork (UCC), have announced a new collaboration that will focus on different aspects of the human microbiome and help develop new products with the potential to improve human health. According to Jonathan O'Regan, Head of Nestlé's Research and Development facility in Askeaton, Co Limerick, this project will help them identify new opportunities to strengthen their infant and maternal nutrition product portfolio based on APC Microbiome Ireland's understanding of the human microbiome. "Microbes make important contributions to human health, protect us against pathogens, help develop our immune systems and enable us to digest food to produce energy. This collaboration with APC, a global leader in microbiome research, is an opportunity for us to deepen our knowledge towards product development," he said.
