Cereals Export Growth Continues
The Chairman of the Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters Association (İHBİR), Haluk Okutur, stated: "İHBİR's exports during the first 8 months of 2021, covering January-August, reached USD 1,471,918 thousand with an increase of 18.73%."
İHBİR Chairman Haluk Okutur: "As İHBİR, in August we achieved USD 183 million in exports, representing a 33.41% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. Our Association, exporting to a total of 187 countries in 2021, recorded the following increases compared to the same month of the previous year: exports to the United States increased by 73.97%, to Iraq by 37.82%, to the United Kingdom by 64.51%, to Algeria by 430.06%, and to Germany by 36.37% on a value basis.
Our Association achieved exports worth USD 1,471,918 thousand during the January-August period, representing an 18.73% increase compared to the same period of the previous year" he said.
Sugar and Sugar Products Exports Increased
Okutur, noting that İHBİR achieved USD 183 million in exports in August, stated: "Our sugar and sugar products exports in August reached USD 46,496 thousand with a 54.39% increase on a value basis compared to the same month of the previous year. Sugar and sugar products, with this month's growth, took their place among the product categories with the highest exports. Chairman Okutur noted that many product categories showed increases compared to the same month of the previous year, saying: "Other food preparations exports increased by 32.72%, bakery products exports by 26.31%, cocoa-based products exports by 24.14%, vegetable oils exports by 56.06%, and oilseeds and fruits exports by 33.01% on a value basis."
