Hero Baby Supports Women Farmers
Hero Baby Supports Women Farmers
Swiss baby food manufacturer Hero Baby Turkey, with 135 years of heritage, celebrated 15 October World Women Farmers Day by harvesting apples with women farmers in Niğde. Focused on natural farming practices for healthy infant development, Hero Baby has provided training to women farmers for years in line with sustainable agriculture principles and continues to offer support and partnership.
Şirin Işık, Marketing Director of Hero Turkey, which has demonstrated success in connecting new generations with fresh fruits and vegetables for 135 years with the mission of "meeting consumer needs while preserving nature's benefits," made the following assessment for 15 October World Women Farmers Day:
"Agriculture is a fundamental pillar of the country's economy and sustainable development. The lifeblood of sustainable agriculture is women farmers. We do not only procure products from our women farmers, but through our training programmes on natural and sustainable farming practices, we also ensure they look to the future with confidence. The added value that our women farmers have provided to rural development from the past to the present is immense.
We are aware that food producers have a major responsibility in empowering women in agriculture. We source produce from our women farmers produced through natural farming practices at our two factories in Ankara, and we work to ensure the next generation grows up healthy.
Today, starting with Niğde and throughout Turkey, we continue our path with firm steps, recognizing the work of our women farmers. As every year, we aim to increase the number of women farmers we support next year, the heroes of our agricultural production. We support sustainable agricultural development through the training we provide to our farmers, and as a brand that has always believed in women's labour, we celebrate 15 October World Women Farmers Day."
