FoodHack Istanbul Event Held The first Istanbul event of FoodHack, the world's largest Food Technology community, took place at Istanbul Arel University Kemal Gözükara Campus-ArtıArel Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center. Organized by Elif Güngör Reis, Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Specialist at Istanbul Arel University Technology Transfer Office and official city representative of the event, the event was held under the theme "The Future of Food Technology." The event brought together numerous producers, academics, entrepreneurs, public institutions and sector professionals from the industry. Within the framework of the event, entrepreneurs set up stands in the foyer to interact with participants. Through the Parrotize application, the event was also broadcast live in English. Parrotize created a digital bridge between translators and listeners. This enabled participants from regions ranging from Europe to Singapore to follow the event online in English. Speaking at the event, Istanbul Arel University Rector Prof. Dr. A. Ercan Gegez discussed the importance of food technology in the field of innovation. Rector Gegez stated, "In our world where competition is at the highest level, I believe these innovative events, which I think will make important contributions to our country's goal of rising above the level of contemporary civilization set by Atatürk, will always receive our support as Istanbul Arel University." At the event, Kök Projekt Founder Semi Hakim discussed the innovative work and contributions they have made by creating data in the fields of food, agriculture and water. Istanbul Arel University Arel POTKAM General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim Müge Şahin emphasized the importance of food technology from the academic perspective by discussing awards received and scientific studies in the field of food technology. Berkan MİFLEH, Co-Founder of Malty, which utilizes malt residues, shared the innovative work, achievements and sector experience with participants at the event. Subsequently, Afro Turco, which conducts research on functional foods, shared its products and technology with participants. Farmolog, a company working on the digitalization of agriculture, emphasized the importance of digitalization to ensure traceability in agriculture. The event concluded with a presentation by Çağdaş Türk. The next FoodHack Summit event will take place on 12-13 May in Lausanne.
