Balparmak Receives I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate

Balparmak qualified for the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate by sourcing all electricity consumed in its operations from renewable sources in 2023. Adding another step to its environmental sustainability initiatives, Balparmak obtained the green electricity certificate through SEPAŞ Enerji. Balparmak, which pursues nature and environmental protection activities and aims to contribute to the sustainability of beekeeping and nature, obtained the I-REC zero-carbon green electricity certificate documenting that the electricity consumed at its 35,000 m2 campus in Istanbul Çekmeköy is sourced from renewable resources. Through the certificate obtained via SEPAŞ Enerji, Balparmak sources its annual energy consumption of 260 MWh from renewable resources, preventing approximately 150 tons/year of CO2 emissions and saving 13,050 trees. Balparmak also holds the "Zero Waste Certificate" granted by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation. In addition to objectives of preventing waste generation, reducing, reusing, and reproducing it, the company sends recyclable products to licensed facilities for recycling or energy recovery. Balparmak CEO Ali Bozer, stating that they have implemented important social responsibility and awareness activities for the protection of bee populations, which are of critical importance for our world's sustainability, and for the sustainability of the beekeeping profession, continued as follows: "In recent years, many efforts have been made worldwide and in Turkey to reduce carbon footprints.
