New-Generation Sustainable Viscose Fabric from Sapro

Sapro's Next-Generation Sustainable Viscose Fabric With 25 years of experience in wet wipe production, Sapro has manufactured the world's first and only next-generation sustainable viscose fabric. Newipe®, which is softer than other viscose fabrics and biodegrades faster, is produced with a 14 percent reduction in carbon emissions. Sapro, leveraging 25 years of accumulated knowledge and experience, has produced the world's first and only next-generation sustainable viscose fabric. The viscose fabric, named Newipe®, is manufactured with a lower carbon footprint compared to generic viscose fabrics and biodegrades more rapidly. Sapro, which exports its products to six continents and is among Europe's largest manufacturers of wet wipes, received a 21 million euro investment credit in November 2020 from a joint initiative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB) to produce Newipe®. With this credit, the company initiated both R&D activities and production investments.   Newipe®, manufactured by Sapro for the first time globally, is produced using entirely natural fibers by combining two different technologies. Sapro aims to meet consumer needs at the highest level with Newipe®, which is softer than wet wipes produced from generic viscose fabric and stronger than wetlaid fabrics, while supporting natural life cycles.

Reduces Carbon Emissions by 14 Percent

  Newipe®, with its soft texture meeting 100 percent of consumer expectations, is an environmentally and future-friendly product with its natural composition that dissolves quickly in nature and contains no plastic. Developed with environmental sustainability awareness, Newipe® contains 100 percent renewable plant fibers. When it degrades, it breaks down into non-toxic components that do not harm the environment and easily converts to organic matter when dispersed.   Newipe®, a product of the latest production technology developed by combining Spunlace and Wetlace technologies, reduces carbon emissions by 14 percent in production compared to other viscose fabrics because some of its components are introduced into the production process without any pre-treatment, and it biodegrades completely in nature more rapidly.
