Sapro Rising with Women's Power Sapro, one of Turkey's leading brands in wet wipe exports, is making a difference in its sector with female employees working in diverse and challenging roles ranging from machine operator to line leader. At Sapro, which employs 800 people across group companies, the share of female employees has reached 45%, while 55% of white-collar office workers are also women. The company, which has brought its production facilities in Bulgaria into operation and created a new employment area, stands out for the importance it places on female employment.

Female appointments increased across all areas

Sapro, which ranks first in Turkey's wet wipe production, has launched special training programmes for its employees to support them in achieving their career goals. Nilgün Zincirkıran, HR Director at Sapro, emphasized that the female employment rate at Sapro and group companies stands at around 45% among 800 employees, and noted that they have particularly increased female appointments to all departments in production facilities. She pointed out that in 2022, two female production employees were promoted to operator positions and that female machine operator candidates are being trained and employed at Lotus, one of Sapro's group companies. Zincirkıran highlighted that in the machine operator position, generally regarded as "men's work", the group companies currently have 15 female employees. Zincirkıran also underscored that 55% of white-collar office workers are women. Noting that many female employees hired as packaging personnel have become professionals in different positions through special training, Zincirkıran stated that Sapro has launched special training programmes. Nilgün Zincirkıran continued: "We have launched a new project at Sapro. We formed a specialized training team. We provide our employees with special training on technical and quality matters on the job every day. Among the female employees who receive this training, we follow up with the successful ones and open doors for them. We believe and support them, they believe in their own strength, put in effort and succeed. Together we share the pride of this." Nilgün Zincirkıran said, "In our 2022 strategy, as we have adopted since the company's establishment, we will continue to contribute to women's social and economic existence, support their career goals and sustain female employment at our company. We will also increase employment at our Bulgaria facilities, which we put into operation in January 2021."
