P&G Announces Emission Reduction Targets in 2030 Goals P&G has announced targets to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 across all operations and supply chain, from raw materials to retail. According to updated 2030 targets, the company will reduce emissions by 50 percent in operations and 40 percent in supply chain, and will achieve carbon neutrality in operations and supply chain by 2040. The climate crisis affects every household and family worldwide. Most consumers globally now expect the brands they purchase to help them live in a more environmentally responsible way. Scientific developments clearly show that urgent and determined action is needed to avoid the negative effects of climate change. Procter & Gamble (P&G), one of the world's largest personal care and cleaning products companies and manufacturer of brands such as Fairy, Prima and Ariel, has announced targets to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 based on these expectations. Accordingly, the company will reduce emissions by 50 percent in operations and 40 percent in supply chain through 2030 interim targets. P&G Board Chair and CEO David S. Taylor, commenting on the matter, said: "We are committed to using P&G's innovation power and creativity to find new solutions to climate change. The task ahead is urgent and much larger than any single company or country can accomplish alone. As P&G, we are focusing our efforts in this direction on reducing our footprint and promoting unprecedented collaboration in our value chain at our scale." Emphasizing that P&G's climate initiatives began more than 10 years ago and that there is much work to be done, Taylor stated: "Our science-based plan for net zero will prioritize reducing most of our emissions in our operations and supply chain from raw materials to retail. For emissions that cannot be eliminated in these categories, we will use natural or technical solutions that remove and store carbon." Taylor continued: "We have joined the United Nations' Race to Zero and Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaigns and are sharing our new Climate Transition Action Plan that outlines the comprehensive approach to accelerating climate action and the challenges ahead. We will continue to communicate our successes and challenges along the way, so that others can learn with us and make collective progress. Care for our consumers and our planet is at the heart of what we do at P&G. In our efforts to protect our common home for future generations, no action is too small and no vision too large to achieve."

Roadmap established under P&G's net zero emissions target:

Urgent Action to Reduce Emissions
