Henkel Raises 2022 Sales Target Henkel increased Group-level sales to approximately EUR 10.9 billion in the first half of 2022. This corresponds to notable organic sales growth of +8.9%. This positive development was driven by all business units and regions. Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel commented: "In a very challenging environment, our sales performance in the first six months exceeded previous expectations for the full year, while our earnings developed in line with our Group targets for the 2022 fiscal year. In light of this development, we have raised our full-year target for organic sales growth at Group level and confirmed our targets for adjusted EBITDA margin and earnings per preferred share." Knobel continued: "We are continuously advancing our Purpose-Driven Growth strategy. We made good progress in the implementation in the first half of 2022, which we achieved above all thanks to the strong commitment of our employees worldwide. With our Adhesive Technologies business unit, we are a global leader offering innovative solutions focused on future trends such as mobility, connectivity and sustainability. By combining our Laundry & Home Care and Beauty Care consumer business units, we are creating a single multi-category platform with sales of approximately EUR 10 billion. We are on track and aim to establish the future Consumer Brands business unit by the beginning of 2023 at the latest. The combined business unit will provide a broader foundation to more powerfully optimize our portfolio and move our business to a higher growth and margin profile," he added.
Henkel develops long-term sustainability strategy
Sustainability has long been one of Henkel's strongest areas. Reflecting the growing importance of sustainable management and rising expectations from customers and society, Henkel advanced its long-term sustainability strategy this year with the new "2030+ Sustainability Targets Framework" that it implemented at the beginning of the year. In addition to existing targets, long-term new targets were set across three focus areas to drive progress further: "Regenerative Planet," "Thriving Communities," and "Trusted Partner." Henkel achieved stronger progress on sustainability in the first half of 2022. For example, on its path to achieving climate-positive carbon dioxide balance for production facilities by 2030, it converted three additional facilities in Europe to operate with 100% carbon-neutral energy. Additionally, Henkel continues to increasingly utilize renewable raw materials. Through a partnership with BASF, approximately 110,000 tons of fossil-based material was replaced with renewable carbon sources.
