Extended Producer Responsibility Guide

Extended Producer Responsibility Guide Members of CHSA (Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association) and other stakeholders in the cleaning sector now have access to clarifying information on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) thanks to a new Information Brochure published by CHSA. EPR is already in force in some European countries. This means that producers of packaging discarded in households are responsible for the recycling costs of the packaging after the product has been consumed. The aim is to promote a circular economy in which resources are used for as long as possible. It seeks to prevent the use of difficult-to-recycle packaging, promote reusable packaging, and finance the full cost of recovering packaging waste collected by local authorities. The Information Brochure, prepared by CHSA members for CHSA members, shows which organisations are affected by EPR for packaging and how organisations are classified.
