Polymer Silicate – What Is It?
AKS-PS material contains liquid cross-linked modified isocyanate compounds. By combining the advantages of organic and inorganic materials, it provides long-term resistance to many chemicals. It is an environmentally friendly product and is non-toxic. It can be applied to surfaces such as carbon steel, stainless steel, concrete, etc., by brush, roller or spraying. It does not require a primer. It can be used in all demanding areas requiring long-term solutions such as floors, walls, acid and chemical storage tanks, channels, tanks, pipes, metal structures, ventilation ducts, etc. Water treatment plants, seawater desalination, petrochemical industry, salt industry, steel industry, paper, printing and coatings industry, marine structures such as ports and docks, food and pharmaceutical industry, pipelines, cooling and desulfurization towers, etc. are just a few of the areas where it can be used. Fundamentally, there are 2 types of products: 1. AKS-PS 2K – Two-Component Application: Can be applied by brush, roller or spraying. It can be easily used on steel, aluminum, concrete, wood and other materials in chemical, oil, food, distillation, agriculture and other industries. 2. AKS-PS 3K – Three-Component Application: Can be applied with steel shot blasting or mortar spraying equipment. General Properties of AKS-PS Polymer Silicate Coating;
•Highly resistant to acids and chemical attacks. Provides resistance to all chemicals in the pH 0-14 range. •Provides high adhesion to concrete and metal surfaces without primer. •Resistant to mechanical loads and impact. •Easy to apply. •Heat resistance up to 175 degrees. •Contains no solvent or heavy metals. It is an ecological product. •Flash point: Approximately 200 degrees. •Adhesion-tensile strength for concrete: 3.0 N/mm2 •Adhesion-tensile strength for steel: 7.2 N/mm2 •Open to vapor diffusion. •Easy to renovate. •Does not require primer for use on both concrete and metal surfaces. •An anti-bacterial and anti-microbial product. Because AKS-PS Polymer Silicate Coating has high resistance to acids and chemical substances, it is particularly used in industrial areas to protect and insulate exposed surfaces.
