Roxol 740 Self-Leveling Screed (5-40 mm)

Product Description: Roxol 740 is a high-fluidity, quick-setting self-leveling floor screed formulated for indoor use only, for thicknesses between 5 and 40 mm, with extra fiber reinforcement, cement-based, manufactured according to TS EN 13813 in class CT / C20 / F6, ready for use.

Preparation Before Application

• The application surface must be cleaned of adhesion-preventing foreign materials such as dust, dirt, mold release agent, slag, paint, and residues and waste such as cement, plaster and concrete. • Weak surfaces that cannot support themselves and moss residues must be removed from the surface. • Floors requiring repair, pits and voids must be filled and leveled with special repair and filling mortars before screed application. • The moisture content of the existing floor must not exceed 3%. • Mineral-based substrates with normal and uniform absorbency should be primed with Bostik PoroPrim, and smooth surfaces that are glossy, non-absorbent or have had similar materials previously applied should be primed with Bostik MarmoPrim at least 24 hours in advance. • NivoTech Foam-Tape should be installed to separate the mortar from walls or other structural elements and to prevent cracking from expansion during screed drying. • At door and window thresholds and wall-floor junctions, corner tape (cuff) should be used to prevent the highly fluid leveling mortar from leaking out. In cases where surface additives, plaster carriers or plaster-skeleton concrete are used, the recommendations of the relevant manufacturers must be followed.

Application

• Powder-form Roxol 740 Self-Leveling Screed is emptied into a container filled with clean water of specified quantity at room temperature and mixed with a low-speed mixer until a lump-free mixture is obtained. Mixing time should be minimum 5 minutes. After the process, the resulting mortar is allowed to rest for 3 minutes, then mixed again for 2 minutes until homogeneous. • The density and setting time of the product vary depending on the amount of water added. • After the mixed mortar has matured for 3 minutes, it is ready for application. • Water should not be added to the self-leveling screed poured onto the floor to thin it. • The screed is spread / pumped with a measuring tool to reach the desired thickness. • The screed spread on the floor is then probed with an appropriate tool (spike roller) or trowel to eliminate voids. • In case of machine pumping, piston or screw pump machines with approximately 40 liters/minute pumping capacity and continuous-running mixers should be used. • During application, the screed spreads by itself and quickly, so generally no additional spreading and leveling work is required after application. • The waiting time before final coat application is 12 hours if ceramic and carpet covering will be applied, and 24 hours if parquet will be applied. • Should not be applied on floors continuously exposed to moisture and humidity. Use is not recommended outdoors, over wooden floors and in industrial areas. • Application by qualified applicators is recommended.

Post-Application Care

• Fresh surfaces should be protected in the first days against adverse weather effects such as direct sunlight, strong air currents, high air temperature (above +35°C), rain and frost. • To prevent capillary crack formation in or on the screed, protect from direct sunlight, heat or strong wind and extreme temperatures. • To achieve the product's intended and desired long-term performance, immediately after completion of all application (depending on the drying time of the applied product, within 24 or 48 hours), the work must be protected or covered with an appropriate coating (ceramic, carpet, PVC, parquet, etc.) according to the purpose and detail of the work.

Coverage

Approximately 1.5 - 1.7 kg/m² per 1 mm thickness. Coverage amounts are theoretical values and we recommend performing a controlled sample application before application.
