Surface Treatment and Coating Technologies Meet
The Eurasian edition of PaintExpo, the world's leading industrial coatings technology trade fair, and SURTECH EURASIA 2019, the International Surface Treatment and Galvanizing Technologies Fair, have concluded successfully.
Visitors and purchasing delegations from 55 countries showed strong interest in this major event, which particularly highlighted next-generation robotics technologies. Turkey's losses due to corrosion and the call for a national effort against corrosion were among the key topics of the organization.
Robotic transformation gaining momentum
A panel held during the fairs featured prominent industry figures. Vedat Güngören, Chairman of the Board of VIG Makine, emphasized in his remarks that the sector is beginning to transform. Drawing attention to the difficulty of finding intermediate and direct-level personnel, Güngören stated that the sector is rapidly shifting toward robots and robotic applications to achieve sustainable quality improvements.Combating corrosion requires priority
Alim Kınoğlu, Vice Chairman of the General Galvanizers Association (GALDER), stressed the importance of combating corrosion. Noting that one of the first steps that can be taken in this regard is to include corrosion in public procurement specifications, Kınoğlu also recalled that galvanizing can extend material lifespan to 70 years. H. Yener Gür'eş, Chairman of the Turkish Structural Steel Association (TUCSA), stated that they estimate Turkey's losses due to corrosion at USD 50 billion, with at least USD 7.5 billion potentially recoverable. He expressed that combating corrosion should be treated as a national matter.Productive fair with visitors and purchasing delegations from 55 countries
PAINTEXPO EURASIA 2019, the leading industrial coatings organization with 84 exhibitors (22 from abroad), and SURTECH EURASIA 2019, the regional leaders' meeting in surface treatment and galvanizing with 66 exhibitors (26 from abroad), brought the sector together. The fairs attracted approximately 4,000 visitors, including 411 from abroad, and numerous purchasing delegations from a total of 55 countries. Visitors to the fairs, which brought together regional leaders, came predominantly from Germany, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Algeria, France, England, Iran, Italy, Uzbekistan, and Saudi Arabia.Surface treatment and industrial coatings technologies converge
Within the scope of Turkey's national technology initiative, surface treatment and industrial coatings technologies hold major significance for increasing exports and achieving global brand objectives. These two technologies in particular provide properties such as smoothness, durability, and visual appeal—which are critical factors in determining product pricing and enhancing consumer appeal.Advertisement
