Surface Treatment and Coating Sectors Move Toward Forming an Association
Companies engaged in surface treatment, coating, galvanizing, sandblasting and painting, as well as those establishing facilities in these fields, have decided to form an association. At a meeting attended by numerous participants, the headquarters of "National Association for All Surface Treatment Processes," abbreviated as "TÜYİDER," was also decided to be located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul.
TÜYİDER will submit its application for association establishment on Tuesday, 28 January with its founding members. Association officials, reaching out to all companies in the sector through press and social media, are calling on all relevant firms, regardless of size, to "Come and help us build our association together."
The foundation for the association was laid at Surtech Eurasia 2019 - Surface Treatment, Galvanizing Chemicals and Technologies Fair. The common view of sector representatives was to unite under an association framework to keep pace with technology, acquire a sectoral identity and strengthen cooperation. The synergy and collective strength that bringing together natural and legal persons in the surface treatment, painting and coating sectors under an association umbrella would bring became the fundamental motivation for establishing this association.
The surface treatment, cleaning, painting and coating sectors, even in their current uncontrolled and unorganized state, have significant impact on the national economy.
Surface treatment activities provide direct and/or indirect inputs and services to all production sectors including automotive, white goods, defense industry, space and aviation, furniture, machinery, metal goods, household goods and electronics.
Ensuring healthy development of these sectors, which rank among the most important stages of industrial production, and making them capable of generating greater added value, are among the core objectives of the association's founders. The association aims to establish, develop, maintain and promote cooperation, standards and disciplines at local and global scale.
