Ytong Production Reaches 40 Million Cubic Meters The volume of Ytong building materials produced in Turkey since 1965 has reached 40 million cubic meters, with the 40-millionth pallet ceremonially removed from the production line at Türk Ytong's Dilovası plant. Ytong production, which began in 1965 at a 50,000 cubic meter capacity facility in Istanbul established by Türk Ytong, has reached a total of 40 million cubic meters across 6 factories over 59 years. This figure is equivalent to the production of 3.3 million homes. With 6 factories, Turkey holds the world leadership position among Ytong-producing countries. Türk Ytong announced that Ytong production, which has continued uninterruptedly since 1965, has reached 40 million cubic meters. The celebration ceremony held at the Dilovası plant was attended by Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar, Board Members, General Manager Tolga Öztoprak, executives and factory employees. Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar recalled that Türk Ytong ranks among the world's largest autoclaved aerated concrete producers and continued his remarks as follows: "We have the capacity to produce 2.5 million cubic meters of autoclaved aerated concrete annually across 6 factories in Turkey. Today we are celebrating our achievement of reaching 40 million cubic meters of production with all Türk Ytong employees. We can say that approximately 3.3 million residential units have been constructed with 40 million cubic meters of material. Through the heat savings achieved with Ytong use in these homes, over 59 years more than USD 10 billion in foreign exchange has been saved. This figure is truly a source of pride that we share with our country and our employees. Ytong, with its environmentally and energy-friendly, breathable, lightweight building materials, has pioneered the construction of healthy and safe homes in our country. This pride is both ours and a success story and source of pride for our country's industrial production," he said. Türk Ytong Board Chairman Fethi Hinginar stated that since the company began operations, they have continued production without pause or interruption, even during difficult times experienced by the world and Turkey, and have worked to provide unique products to the construction sector. Hinginar noted that their greatest objective is to produce products that benefit the country and to introduce every type of innovation in Turkey that will help make housing and buildings in Turkey contemporary, modern, safe to inhabit, and energy-efficient, continuing as follows: "Our goal has been to understand what the needs of contemporary and modern life are and to respond to them. Today, just as 59 years ago, we work with enthusiasm and motivation to ensure that homes, offices, schools, factories—in short, all structures in which we conduct our lives—are built in a contemporary manner and to ensure buildings are heated with minimum energy consumption. Thanks to these objectives, we have achieved market leadership and world leadership. We will continue to invest in the future, in education, in employment, and in our country with confidence." he said.
