Carbon emissions must be reduced by 55 percent by 2030

Hinginar stated that Green Industrial Transformation will begin with industrial parks as planned industrial zones, emphasizing that the manufacturing sector is a priority from the Green Deal perspective. "The Green Deal is a detailed and broad topic. We must all reach the right destination together. We must identify reducing energy consumption as a priority and aim to cut carbon emissions by using both solar and energy obtained from natural sources. Current carbon emissions are expected to be reduced by 55 percent by 2030 and reach zero by 2050. We are just at the beginning. We must move forward rapidly through conscious efforts. For our industry to sustain its export potential, our exporting companies must reduce their carbon emissions. Creating green and environmentally conscious production infrastructure, and advancing towards smart and eco-friendly production models require industrial parks to play a pioneering role. We have begun to see pilot industrial parks adopting the Green OSB concept. We support this concept and are conducting various activities to ensure good examples become widespread and known. Additionally, as Ytong, we stand alongside Turkish industrialists with our products and solutions in this transformation. We work in cooperation with industrial parks and investors so that factory investments—the foundation of the economy—proceed in an environmentally conscious manner, with sound building quality and safety, energy efficiency, and resilience against fire and earthquake risks. Turkish industrialists must build green factories as soon as possible

Fethi Hinginar, who stated "we emphasize at every opportunity that the phenomenon of urban transformation must also occur in industrial transformation," added: "In a way, it has become a necessity. Because the Green Deal, which the European Union Council put into effect in June, will affect all countries." Hinginar emphasized that the agreement is forcing Turkish industry to implement changes and stressed that work on green factories in particular must begin without delay. Hinginar said: "As Ytong, we build our own factories according to the Green Building concept that respects people and the environment.
