Marshall selects colour of 2022: "Infinite Sky" Marshall experts chose "Infinite Sky" as colour of the year, drawing from everyone's need for "fresh air" and inspired by the airy, open blue sky. Four distinct colour palettes complementing the Colour of the Year were determined as Sun, Cloud, Wind, and Rain palettes, reflecting the sky's colours under different weather conditions. Continuing to bring colour to our lives under the slogan "Colour Your Life", Marshall announced the colour of 2022 determined by the design team of its global company AkzoNobel: "Infinite Sky". In selecting "Infinite Sky" as Colour of the Year, AkzoNobel drew inspiration from an airy, open and vibrant blue sky that evokes the feeling of "fresh air" that everyone needs. Following a period in which people felt confined within four walls, they now have a strong desire to break through their boundaries. Extensive global trend research conducted by a team of AkzoNobel colour experts and international design professionals reveals that people want to spend time outdoors, connect with nature, and approach everything with a fresh perspective. Heleen van Gent, Creative Director of AkzoNobel's Global Aesthetic Centre, stated that the "Infinite Sky" colour will help people embrace new ideas and shape a new future in 2022, saying: "This colour represents the vast sky above our heads and gives us room to redefine the role of our homes, nature, art and new voices in our lives. Consumers are seeking to express themselves and transform their spaces, and as colour experts we aim to inspire them in their colour choices." AkzoNobel Aesthetic Centre also developed the combination of Infinite Sky with other colours and tones, and designed four decorative colour palettes inspired by the changing role of the home due to increased time spent indoors in recent times. These were determined as Sun, Cloud, Wind, and Rain palettes, reflecting the sky's colours under different weather conditions. The colour palettes make it easy to choose from a range of soft neutrals and cheerful tones and to determine and select colours to be used together. The colour palettes can be used to create space division in multipurpose spaces, evoke a feeling of nature indoors, create a soothing atmosphere, or encourage a sense of unity.
