WECODUR® Rotor Coating Technology

WECODUR® Rotor Coating Technology ITT Inc. announced its investment in HPL Technologies, a German-based technology startup pioneering rotor coating in the market with WECODUR® technology. HPL developed WECODUR®, an innovative hard coating technology and associated production machinery that enables rotors to last longer, resist corrosion better, and reduce fine dust emissions from braking systems. The investment was made jointly by ITT Ventures Fund and S-UBG, a Germany-based venture fund. Through this investment transaction, both ITT and S-UBG acquired a 10% stake in HPL. HPL's WECODUR® technology, when combined with ITT Motion Technologies brake pads specifically designed for hard-coated brake discs, will deliver industry-leading environmentally friendly performance and durability. The investment will help accelerate the large-scale industrialization of laser coating and grinding machines for brake rotors at HPL Technologies. The technology will play an important role in meeting future emission requirements for high-performance braking systems. The investment in Motion Technologies, a leading brake pad supplier, enables the company to continue meeting customers' future market needs by providing the most efficient and sustainable technology.
