Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri Launches New Sheet-Fed Offset Ink Series for GMP-Compliant Food Packaging Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri, part of Toyo Ink Group, one of the world's largest ink manufacturers based in Japan, has introduced LP-9000 TOYO LIFE PREMIUM FOOD LO/LM, a new sheet-fed offset ink series produced in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards. The inks are designed for application to the outer surfaces of paper and cardboard food packaging materials and feature low odor and migration characteristics.

Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri, committed to the motto "For A Vibrant World" and aiming to stand out through innovative technologies across all areas of life, has developed the LP-9000 TOYO LIFE PREMIUM FOOD LO/LM new ink series at its R&D Center in Manisa to contribute to food safety and the protection of human and environmental health. The series can be used in food and pharmaceutical, paper or cardboard packaging. Production investments were made to ensure manufacturing in line with EuPIA GMP requirements.

Rukiye Kıter, Offset R&D Manager at Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri, which serves the packaging and printing sectors, stated: "The LP-9000 TOYO LIFE PREMIUM FOOD LO/LM Series, developed in accordance with European standards at our R&D Center registered by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, has been realized through a project supported by TÜBİTAK. With our new ink series launched to the market, we will be present in all markets where food safety is a priority, starting with Turkey and including the European Union." The LP-9000 TOYO LIFE PREMIUM FOOD LO/LM Series is designed without drying agents, cures through penetration, and is manufactured with plant-based and renewable source raw materials. Migration analyses of the product were conducted according to EU 10/2011 regulations, while odor and migration tests were performed and certified by the ISEGA Institute in Germany. In addition to ISEGA certification, the LP-9000 Ink Series meets the requirements of EC 1935/2004 and EC No 2023/2006 regulations as well as Swiss Ordinance (Nestle Guidance Note on Packaging inks) and EuPIA Principles (EuPIA Exclusion Policy for Printing Inks and Related Products), thereby complying with all national and international regulatory requirements. Melis Türkyener Çelebi, Offset Specialist at the R&D Center who was involved in all phases of the project, noted that the LP-9000 Ink Series comprises Pantone and 12 special spot colors designed according to ISO-2846 and ISO-12647 color and print standards. She added that the color pastes and database software system that will enable printers to prepare Pantone and spot colors were also developed by the Toyo Matbaa Mürekkepleri Offset R&D Center.
